You likely know this, but Jason Evans is holding his "Running Wind" short fiction (250 words max.) contest, and is accepting entries through 11 p.m. Wednesday, July 16th. As usual, there's a lot of talent on display, and I've really enjoyed reading all of the entries. Thanks, Jason, for running such a finely tuned contest!
My entry can be found here.

I read your story. Nice and evil! There were a lot more entries this afternoon it looked like but it may take me a day or so to get through all the new ones.
That's so funny, signed salt...
I read your story too and left you a comment... but what I do really want to know is how someone as seemingly sweet as you can think up a character so evil??
A cute pic,made me :)
I simply love your entry, and love it even more every time I read it.Expertly crafted!
Thanks for linking me btw.
I echo Sheri's question! ;)
Thanks, Charles. They're coming in fast and furious now. A lot of fun to read.
Sheri and Sameera: er...no comment.
Or on second thought: blame Jason, and his prompt. ;)
And thanks for the great feedback, guys. And for the link, Sameera. :)
I liked your entry a lot and commented over there. Great work!
Your story was well-written and had a certain edge. Certainly not campy like David Sosnowski's novel "Vamped."
At the risk of repeating myself, I thoroughly loved your entry--yet again.
Very well written, Sarah!
Thanks, everyone, for all your kind comments, and for stopping by.
I really appreciate it. :)
Your entry is awesome, as anyone has come to expect from you. But just as impressive have been your comments and support to everyone involved. I loved your comment on my piece, and you have a knack for cutting the heart of everyone's writing. It's support like yours that writers can really use as inspiration.
Thank you, Scott. I think that's one of the nicest things anyone's ever said to me.
I really did enjoy your piece. And your comments and support, too. This is a great community!
Your entry is a fabulous piece of writing.
And I do not exaggerate.
Awwww push it.
Push it good.
Awwww push it.
Push it real good.

And thanks for the mention. :)
Thank you, Bernita!! High praise, indeed, from a brilliant writer like yourself. :)
Ha! Jason, how could I forget that 90s supergroup? I once performed in a high school sketch set to the classic, "Whatta Man." Good times...
Ahem, but I believe it is spelled Pepa.
And you're welcome. :)
