Wild Strawberries

She stained his hair
with passion's pulp,
as he teased her knees
with nerves of grass

And like a record
sweetened by its needle,
contact spun them
a crackling song

Berry juice squeezed
from electric thighs,
tiny seeds like gold dust
flecking red tongues

I like that the photo depicts how the joining of pieces creates a whole. As does the passion of the lovers create a song.

Quite a start to the week, Sarah!

I like the use of color here in you descriptions. Very expressive as said above.

Happy Monday!

Vinz, I hope so. :)

Aine, that was the very reason I picked this photo. Thanks for noticing!

I saw this piece as summer's last hurrah...so I wanted to, er, make an impression. ;)

Paul, thank you. It's been awhile since I wrote a poem. Summer's fading made me want to take another stab.

Happy Monday to you, too. :)

When the lightest touch drowns the expanse of the universe.

One of the greatest moments to be human.

a lot of nice images here. Especially love the seed image.

Jason, so true. Those little earthquakes can move mountains, and join hearts.

I need to stop lamenting summer's passing. It's still here, damn it! ;)

Charles, thanks. I think the seed image was my favorite too. I definitely mixed my metaphors here, but it was a fun poem to write.
