Lakeside

The world
today
is much too tender
a thing

With every song
in the car
pulling too wide
or too near

And so I stop to watch
the dragonflies

darting about
their sanctuary
of light

Not so frantic
that they don't
pause, mid-
spin

And I
with them

Feeling less
and less
like the baby bird

for whom the sun
is too flush

and the moon
too thin

Pushing up
its tiny mouth
for the plump
of a worm

or a gulp
of hot air

There is a slow down and take a Zen moment quality here. I am good with replacing the background noise that misses the mark or scores direct hits being turned of for the sight of four wings stopping and turning to something that suddenly became more important than where i was headed.

Yep, slow it down. I like.

Mark, I can't say it better than that. I need nature more and more lately, to remind me of my smallness and largeness.

Charles, thanks for understanding.

May be it's because I'm binge reading your posts (you sure have been keeping busy. :) Me likey), it seems you're going through the phase where the world just seems way too big, and we question the purpose of our place in it.

I get that often too.

To get over it I usually to Goa. And ditch everything tech - No laptop. No mobile phones. No tablets.

Coming to think of it, it's been a while that I did that. Time to pack the bags, I guess.

This picture was taken in my Goa. No cell phone reception. Just me and the dragonflies.

Yeah, that wasn't a good week for me. But the water sure is therapy.

Come to mention it, pack a bag for me, too.
